The Role

Are you a versatile software engineer with expertise in both backend and frontend development? Do you thrive in dynamic environments and possess a deep understanding of Python and TypeScript? PONS is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Software Engineer to develop and maintain our innovative legal tech platform. If you are an ambitious, problem-solving individual with experience in cloud technologies and a knack for leveraging AI to enhance workflows, we want you on our team!

Responsibilities and Tasks

• Full-Stack Development: Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Python for backend and TypeScript for frontend.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Architect, deploy, and manage applications on cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability.
• AI Integration: Implement and optimize Large Language Models (LLMs) and other AI techniques to enhance application functionalities.
• API Development: Design and develop robust APIs to facilitate seamless integration between various services and components.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Code Quality: Ensure code quality through best practices, code reviews, testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Innovation: Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, and proactively suggest improvements to existing systems and processes.
• Troubleshooting: Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience:
  • Strong proficiency in Python, TypeScript, and NodeJS.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, like AWS or Azure.
  • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with AI and machine learning integrations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of software development best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, global team environment.
• AI Proficiency:
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prompt and utilize AI tools to enhance workflows and productivity.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with IaaS, containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, etc.).
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
• Previous experience in the legal technology sector or understanding of legal services workflows.
• Contributions to open-source projects or a strong personal portfolio.
