The Role

We’re seeking a Legal Engineer (Lawyer) to shape our AI tools and platform features. If you’re a qualified lawyer with a tech-savvy mindset, ready to design AI-driven workflows for dispute resolution, this hybrid role is for you.

Responsibilities and Tasks

• Platform Shaping: Collaborate on designing AI features and intuitiveness.
• AI Tool Development: Provide legal expertise to train and optimize LLMs for accurate legal insights, document processing, and custom workflows.
• Compliance and Ethics: Ensure AI tools comply with legal standards, ethics, and data privacy regulations in jurisdictions.
• Workflow Design: Define user experiences for legal professionals, integrating firm-level roles and case stages into the PONS Application.
• Collaboration: Work with engineers, product teams, and data scientists to align AI with real-world legal needs.
• Research and Innovation: Stay updated on legal tech trends; propose enhancements to platform capabilities.
• Testing and Validation: Review AI outputs for legal accuracy; troubleshoot issues in tools like document branding and evidence gathering.
• Documentation: Create guidelines for legal users and contribute to platform training materials.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree; active bar membership preferred.
• Experience:
• 3+ years in legal practice, ideally in dispute resolution or ADR.
• Familiarity with AI tools and legal tech platforms.
• Strong understanding of legal workflows, ethics, and regulations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Skills:
• Ability to translate legal concepts into tech requirements.
• Strong communication for cross-functional teams.
• Eagerness to learn AI/ML basics in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in legal tech, AI ethics, or data privacy.
• Basic knowledge of programming or AI frameworks.
